Smile White Teeth Whitening in Gillingham Kent

Smile White Teeth Whitening

Smile White teeth whitening is only available from a Smile White partner dentist. Treatment uses a prescription-only formulation, the highest strength 16% carbamide peroxide gel designed to lift surface and ingrained stains. Smile White custom-made trays are created from a 3D scan or moulds of your teeth to give each tooth an all-round even whiteness. With Smile White you can achieve an ultra-white smile, fast.

How Teeth Whitening Gel Works

Smile White Teeth Whitening gels are created from 16% carbamide peroxide and potassium nitrate, the industry gold-standard. Your gels are designed to not only lift surface stains but will penetrate your teeth to lift ingrained stains from lifestyle factors.

Please note gels will not whiten dead teeth or teeth that have dulled due to root canal treatment. This requires dental bleaching. Discuss this with your dentist.

Teeth Whitening Procedure

Treatment starts with a consultation at your Smile White dentist where we ensure you’re eligible for treatment and that you have no issues that would prevent success.

  1. We’ll take a 3D scan of your mouth and moulds of your bite. This is sent to Smile White laboratories where your custom whitening trays are made.
  2. You receive your Smile White parcel at home.
  3. Bring your kit to your dentist to discuss how to achieve the whitest smile fast.
  4. Using your gel syringe, apply a pea sized amount to the receptacles in your whitening trays. Avoid overfilling as this can damage your gums and cause unwanted pain.
  5. Insert your whitening trays and press in place to spread the gel evenly across your teeth. Avoid biting down with your trays in place.
  6. Wear your trays overnight for the best results. Top up as required.
  7. In 4-7 days, you should have a bright white smile.

Please note your teeth will be sensitive after each use. Use a sensitive toothpaste and mouthwash to help reduce this inconvenience.

Keep your gels in your refrigerator to maintain their potency.

Am I Eligible for Whitening?

To be eligible for treatment you should have:

  • Good oral health
  • No gum disease, receding gums or gingivitis
  • No cavities or cracks
  • Be prepared to experience sensitivity
  • Commit to wearing your trays every night for around a week

Teeth whitening does not work on areas of teeth that have had composite bonding, dental implants, crowns, white fillings, onlays, inlays and overlays.

What is in the Teeth Whitening Kit

Your Smile White kit includes:

  • Box: To keep your whitening kit all in one place
  • 4 Syringes of gel: More than enough to top up your smile for up to 2 months
  • Custom whitening trays: Designed to hold gel close around each tooth
  • Case: To protect your trays when not in use
  • Instructions: A refresher on how to use your kit
  • Cotton swabs: To dry your teeth before whitening

How to Whiten Your Teeth at Home

Smile White Teeth Whitening is designed to be used at home. Before using your treatment please:

  1. Make sure your trays are clean using a denture cleaning tablet, ultrasonic cleaner or other cleaning treatment of your choice.
  2. Clean your teeth with a fluoride toothpaste and soft bristled toothbrush. Use floss or interdental brushes to clean between your teeth.

If removing your trays after wearing them during the day please rinse in clean cold water and remember to brush your teeth before reinserting them.

Dental Whitening Vs the Alternatives

As mentioned before nothing beats teeth whitening at a dentist.

Some high street treatments use UV (Ultraviolet), blue or “laser” light to temporarily improve whiteness. This is short lived lasting a few hours and is not a long-term solution.

Low strength over the counter and online treatments that can help temporarily whiten but with unreliable results include:

  • Whitening gum
  • Whitening mouthwash
  • Whitening toothpaste
  • Whitening powder
  • Natural/DIY treatments
  • Low strength gels and imprecise trays

Please note beauty salons and other non-clinical high street whitening treatments are illegal and do not use high strength prescription gels or custom trays.
